In the last few years, I have had so many conversations with clients and friends who were considering leaving the workforce. These are highly educated women, who
decided to have children, and going back to work to a full-time, high-stress environment no longer met their needs.
They tried to make it work, but between work and home life, they were exhausted.
They did not want to become a stay at home parent. They wanted to work and be active; they wanted to contribute in the world; they wanted to utilize their years of experience and education; they just wanted more freedom but didn’t see any options.

Job Sharing can transform your life
I met Melissa Nicholson of Work Muse, a job sharing consulting firm and she saw the same things. In fact, she even experienced it! Before launching Work Muse, she created a job sharing arrangement for herself and got it approved by her company. She made it work for 8 years in a marketing and sales role.
After speaking with Melissa, I will be honest, job sharing sounded AMAZING! It is a way for individuals to utilize their years of experience and education in the workplace with more flexibility.
Of course, then doubts started creeping in – it almost sounded too good to be true. I wasn’t sure if would work for many jobs or if companies were progressive enough to accept it. But Melissa was able to address all my concerns.
